2010年洛杉磯大同北美校友會週年大會日程表
下面行程最後鼓定：
1. 9/27/2010 (星期一): 南加州校友在希爾頓大酒店(Hilton/San Gabriel)恭候各師長及校友聊天與敘舊苶會，由晚上七時至十一時。
2. 9/28 至10/1/2010 (星期二至星期五): 大西部之旅四天遊，費用已包含巴士、 酒店、導遊、及聚餐等。 小費與其它自用不包在內。

大同中學北美校友會南加州籌委會敬約 2010年2月8日

近週來，與有關旅遊機構密集商量，初步大致計劃如下：
1) 大西部四日遊，九月二十八日起程，在拉斯維拉斯賭城過夜，第二日往錫安公園及布萊斯峽谷，第三日往包偉湖，第四日拉斯維拉斯賭城及返洛杉磯。詳情遲些另行通知。
2) 十月二日半日遊，遲些另行通知。
3) 十月三日至十月十日，墨西哥七日遊船。
4) 欲參加者，請閱覽報名表。注意：報名表提及附件，要遲些才送到。
歡迎各位師友，來到溫暖如春，陽光遍地的南加州。先往拉斯維拉斯賭城，那城市近年發展迅速，新賭場及新奇建築物林立，極盡娛樂能事。旁及大自然的壯麗，也極盡大西部風光的特色。此次均有機會重遊。
十月二日晚上是重頭戲，慶祝香港大同中學北美校友會 年會 及爐社畢業五十週年、信社畢業四十週年、為社畢業三十週年大聚會晚宴，敬請各地校友踴躍參加，重溫舊時友善的情懷！
翌日往墨西哥遊船七日，享受和暖的海風，處於茫茫大海之中，慶幸盡是大同人，海外存知己，天涯猶比鄰，同享異國情調，且笑問客從何處來。
以上所有資料，包括報名表，等收齊後，不日郵寄。
大同中學北美校友會南加州籌委會敬約 2010年1月16日
『大同校友聊天室』 試用版新面世
這是百分之一百全由大同人自制新的『大同校友聊天室』，軟件是用國外流行最廣的是英文版PHPBB3，加上台灣竹貓中文化軟件配合。 因此，可用中文彼此交流。其特點是：功能多樣化，可上載縮放照片、短片、音樂、自行穩藏文字、以及日後可加更多功能，例如：萬年曆及行事曆等。
本來考慮用國內最通行的是Discuz (康盛創想科技公司)的軟件，但一到美國裝置時變了亂碼，只好放棄。從去年十二月四日測試以來，已有280件發表。除了曾傑成學長有一篇鴻文不能發表，因有一個虛字，與『大同校友聊天室』的軟件不能相容之故。
前些時候，劉麗珍前會長及吳學健前網主曾構想把『聊天室』開放給外面訪客閱覽，直到去年十二月『大同校友聊天室』 試用版新面世時才得以實現！
最初選定PHPBB3軟件，是因全球有三十四萬網友選用，比目前用的聊天室 myxxxxxx 1.0 更保密、更安全、更可靠。大同人，放心試用。反正，大同人，不盡是小家氣耳。
『大同校友聊天室』另一特點是：不限制容量，此為目前聊天室 myxxxxxx 1.0 只有 1G 限制容量所不及。
『大同校友聊天室』又一特點：不設立『網主』，『網主』是舊時軟件不普及的產物，只要懂電腦可管理。現在時代進步，人人都懂電腦，也希望人人都可做『網主』。因此，我們只設用『大同校友聊天室管理組』名義就可。
另有新網址——大同校友影視廊，也是不限制容量、以及沒有廣告，大同人，可自行上載及永久保留照片與短片。
三個月試用期滿後，如果『大同校友聊天室』試驗沒有問題，到時轉為 HKTAITUNG.ORG 的副址，代替聊天室 myxxxxxx 1.0。
新的一年，新的開始，願新的『大同網』盡漸廣為人知。

各位嘉賓, 各位同學,大家好!
歡迎大家來到這美麗的 Myrtle Beach 參加我們的 第12屆 聯歡會。各位當中有許多是不惜遠道而來，主要原因當然是一敘舊情，但亦需要大家很大的承諾。
例如 : 朱鍚寧 在 六個月之前 就定了機位；梁玉波 去年 八月 就安排這次的假期。大家都花了很大的努力才辦成這聯歡會，這就是我們的
‘大同精神 ’。
過去 十二年，我們曾經在 Vancouver，New York，San Jose，Calgary，San Francisco，Toronto
舉行過聯歡會。作為地主的 當然很高興為大家介紹當地景點和特色，但是也覺得越來越難找出新鮮的地點讓大家聚會。因此我很感謝 美東同學
能找到這新創意 -- 在他們的市外歡待大家。我們用不著東奔西跑，就在這美麗的渡假勝地享受海灘和美景。我特別高興將能看到那些花園和精彩的表演。
我要在這裏多謝 李振文 和 籌委會成員。在你們努力下這個盛會得成現實。去年十一月，他們自費來到實地考察酒店設施和各類活動。預早張羅和計劃無數細節，我們都知道是很不容易的。我特別要多謝
[賓社]義工 -- 林仕優 太太 - Chee Chee。她為我們負責會計、聯絡等等盡了很大努力。 Chee Chee，請站起來讓我們為妳鼓掌!
我挑上會長這擔子巳有兩年了。在這段時間裏我認識了很多朋友，例如在 香港 的 秘書長 陳慶祥校友。每當我在最關鍵的時候，他總會幫我一把，他還不厭其煩，獨力影印了我們正校的座位表。這可是幾百頁我們母校
二十九年 的歷史啊! 這珍貴的文件多次成為証明曾經在校就讀的有效証据，為許多校友在申請 香港身份証 或其他法律手續上獲得認可。這文件現在由
李振文 保管。他答應會盡力保存這寶貝!
另外，我也認識了不少新朋友，例如: 黃憲綱，Iren Ng，胡樹江，梅綺蓮 等。他們都給我提供了不少的幫助和寶貴的意見。
朱鍚寧，李振文，黃國璋，這幾位老朋友經常耐心回答我的問題，我謝謝你們的寶貴意見和引導。
還有很多舊雨新知，不能在此盡列。對你們給我的幫助，我表示由衷的感謝。
最後，我要特別感謝我們 大同網主，吳學健同學。他為了同學會努力了七年。起初他不懂綱頁設計，他特意修讀這項科目才能創做我們綱頁。後來還加設
‘ myfamily.com ’以方便校友溝通。不比其他校友會，我們的母校巳不復存在，搜集資料不容易。他不但從各方面搜集好多資料，還要把這些資料分類，放在綱頁上。綱頁不能完全自動操作，他還要不斷的在幕後關注。他多年來默默耕耘，為同學會提供了寶貴的貢獻。
今天 吳學健 因事不能到會，我想請 籌委會主席 代表他接受一份禮物以示我們的一點心意。
在你們的檯上有一份 2009年7月31日 的 財務報告。在這世界經濟危機之中，我們校友會的財務還是很健全的。
此外，我們有三位新會員加入:

我很榮幸能夠歡迎我們的新會長 -- 我的好友，from Indo, California 的 胡樹江同學。在他的領導和各位新幹事大力支持下，我們的會務一定會蒸蒸日上。

各位校友：
在過去多月來，我們曾經勞力尋找人選接替 [樹社] 吳學健，去執行大同網頁的工作，卻未得結果！主要是維持現時大同網站
的運作，網主除了需要懂得網頁制作的知識外，還要承諾願意付出私人時間。
現時我們採用了的 myfamily.com 是一個非常方便和易用的網站。我們大多數都可以自行上載信息、圖片，和附加網上連結。雖然此網站仍有不理想的地方，例如它那固定而不能改變的型式，但在維修和管理方面，它不需要網主必需有制作網頁經驗的條件，我想這是我們目前解決網主接替問題的唯一辦法。我們仍然希望能夠聆聽你們的意見。假如你們還有更好的解決辦法，或發現有更好的網站適合我們使用，請不要猶疑向我們提出。

Dear Friends,
In the last few months, we tried to find a replacement
for Kim Ng, our Web master and had no success. The
web site requires people who possess web knowledge and are able
to commit their time.
Myfamily.com is more users’ friendly, most of
us can post text, upload pictures, insert attachments and links
to the site. This site has its drawback, such as inflexibility.
However, it is maintenance free, no need for an experienced web
master. And as of now, this is our only alternative. However,
we are always open to suggestion. Should you know of any web site
that will work for us, please do not hesitate to let us know.
In the coming months,
‧ We will experiment to only post news on myfamily.com.
‧ Tidy up myfamily.com, i.e. categorize all postings
‧ Gradually move the contents from to myfamily.com.
Meanwhile, I am asking if anyone will step forward
and help out.
‧ To tidy up myfamily.com – to categorize all
postings. (under 5 groups : file cabinet, news, photos, review,
recipes)
‧ For any new posting, please use the category as supplied on
the dropdown menu or create a new one if it is necessary.
‧ Once this is accomplished, we will look at ’s content
and begin moving them to myfamily.com.
As we will not post any more news on .
, anyone who is interested in our news will have to log on to
myfamily.com. For those alumni who would like a password to log

Dear Stanley and the Reunion Committee,
Congratulations for a job well done!
You made beautiful memories for all of us. It is always difficult
to come up with new ideas for the reunion party every year. But
you and your talent committee members have demonstrated their
creativity, have organized many imaginative activities such as
making and labelling ice wine for souvenirs, the drumming ceremony,
taking pictures and post them on youtube, personal tour guides
by our alumni, master(s) of ceremony, etc. I cannot count them
all.
Patrick, you are the behind the scene maestro. I thank you for
keeping me posted all along. You have a very difficult task, keeping
track from the beginning to end. I sincerely hope you are not
burnt out. If I don’t see your name on the web-site recently,
I understand it totally. You need a rest from it all, and you
are allowed.
Francis, I thank you for taping our informal meeting. I have
replayed the meeting several times and it reinforced my understanding
of the event. It is very helpful to me because I have missed lots
of the details due to my poor Chinese. I will consolidate all
the ideas from our friends and will follow up on all the issues.
Sam, thank you for being our tour guide in Mont Tremblant. You
can be a professional comedian. The pot luck in the hotel was
perfect. I must admit that I was one of the few who voted for
“no pot luck”. I am glad I lost that vote. It was a great experience
to be shopping for groceries and then sharing the foods. This
just reinforced what our Alumni Association is all about – to
be among friends and have a good time.
I missed out the Toronto Bus trip and Mackinac Island, I understand
they were great successes as well.
Again, thanks to all of you for organizing this memorable reunion
and I hope to see you all next year.

Subject: Election Process
Dear friends,
The Executive Committee met on May 10/08. We discussed in detail
about the election process and would like to make the following
changes for the next election.
1. |
Each chapter will nominate up
to 2 local members for election. |
2. |
Each chapter will decide on the method to
select their nominees and will confirm their willingness to
stand for election. |
3. |
The nominees must agree to stand for election
and to serve. |
4. |
Calgary and Vancouver are one chapter, i.e.
Canada West. |
5. |
California North and California South are
one chapter, i.e. USA West. |
6. |
The incumbent chapter is not entitled to
nominate for the following election. |
7. |
The Executive Committee will send ballot
to members |
8. |
Voting members and nominees must be registered,
i.e. has paid membership due, if not registered, he or she
may send in Membership fee immediately. |
9. |
One vote for each member. |
10. |
The person receives the most ballots will
become President of the Association, and that chapter will
become the office of the association. |
11. |
The President will choose those in the home
chapter and in other chapters to help as may be required. |
Bases for conclusion -
| 1. |
Simplify process - eliminate
the process of members having to elect 1-10 nominees who may
not be aware of his or her nomination. It is also impractical
for the member to contact 10 nominees and receive their consent. |
| 2. |
The regional representatives generally have
good rapport with local alumni and have influence. They can
assure that the nominees are willing to serve before submission
to the Executive Committee. |
| 3. |
Choices are more focused and the winner will
have a larger support base than if there are a multitude of
candidates |
| 4. |
Simplify mailing – once (ballots) rather than twice (nominees
& ballots) - save time and money. |
| 5. |
No candidates from incumbent district to
ensure that leadership of the association moves around the
continent. |

2, 2008.

Dear Dominic and all committee members,
I am writing to express my sincere appreciation
of your hard work leading to a successful 2007 reunion.
Mui Yee Lin, Eugene and Sin Tao Heung, Jane
and Clement Hung, Gene and Sandra Fong, Rose Koot-Lianides,
thank you for your hospitality; you all made us feel welcome
and comfortable. Our friendship has grown since the reunion
of 2005 in Calgary. We are like relatives; we can always
talk about the old days and pick up where we left off the
previous time.
Your attention to details was especially
notable; Rose, I could feel your big relief when the corsages
arrived for the ladies!! I am amazed how you could switch
back and forth in Cantonese, Mandarin and English. When
I need a MC next time, I know whom to ask.
You all are so generous and we just do not
know how to express our thanks. All I can think of is that
when we see you in Toronto next year, you will be our guests
and we will try to match your hospitality.
Kai, I thank you for looking after all the
classmates of 67. The seamless attention to details, from
our class 67 dinner party to the bus trip, then our grand
graduation ceremony was so well orchestrated. I love the
graduation pictures that you have collected in our graduation
binder, and I hope one day, I can put our recent pictures
next to the old ones. I often thought that will help me
remember faces.
Gong Kwok Wah, thank you for directing us
to various eating places in the mall, I think the location
of the hotel is excellent, it is surrounded by so many eating
places, and all our friends could gather and snack all day
long. It seems the mall belong to Tai Tung. The atmosphere
is casual and friendly. I love it.
It is impossible for me to mention all the
contributors!
Dominic, your leadership had been so well
demonstrated. It will be difficult for us to follow your
footstep.

會議內容：
1.會費：
1.1 2002年起，永久會員會費是美金二十五元或加幣四十元。
1.2 校友如果在2002年己經繳交美金七元半或加幣十元, 他/她們祇需再 繳 交美金十七元半或加幣三十元便可成為永久會員。由校友會以書
面通知這些校友。
1.3 校友如果在2002年己經繳交美金七十五元或加幣壹佰元， 將由財政 劉振發以電話聯絡商討多交的會費。
2.週年聚會：
2.1 正式委托羅省籌委會, 備籌2003年大同北美校友會週年大會。
2.2 巳開設了一個新的獨立銀行戶口，以供羅省籌委會之用。 戶囗己有 存款美金一千一佰元。
2.3 週年大會之各項活動將由羅省籌委會自行決定，校友會將會全力支持。
2.4 聚會信件將由羅省籌委會負責寄出。
3.選舉：
3.1 提名表格大約在2003年二月初寄出。
3.2 選舉表格及候選人名單大約在2003年四月初寄出。
4.大同園地：

5.朱質文老師記念基金：
由各校友及朱質文老師家人損贈給校友會之美金二仟元己經買了CD。以後每年所得的利息，將會用來贊助印刷通訊錄立之用。由校友會發信謝謝贊助基金的校友。請看以下附件解釋朱質文老師記念基金成立的經過。
6. 財務報告、預算及各分會的補助：
經過詳細考慮，各地分會活動補助經 費將定為每年上限四佰美元。
7. 通訊錄：
7.1 由文書陳守仁負責通訊錄的原本及維新。
7.2 校友夫婦將會分開刊登，而以社別為主。
8. 校友會會章：
會章裡的會費，組織及各地分會活動補助需要些微修改。 修改內容將由會長與各地分會負責人商討。

Dear Chun:
Thank you for your thoughtful email dated August 20, 2002.
I am sending you by mail today US fund of $2000 for the purpose
of setting up the Professor Jet Man Chu Memorial Fund informally
within Tai Tung Alumni Association of North America ("TTAA").
The Memory Fund will be operating separately the general fund
of TTAA and the proceeds of the Memory Fund will be used towards
the publications of TTAA Alumni Directory (that is following
suggestion 3c in the your proposal). I would like to see that
the President and the Treasurer of TTAA administrate the Fund
and the operating results of the Fund be disclosed annually
in conjunction with the financial report of TTAA to its member
as outline in your proposal.
Please also find in the mail a list of the Tai Tung Alumni
who have made contribution ($50 each) to the Memory Fund and
would greatly appreciated if the TTAA could send a letter to
each of the Alumni acknowledging their contribution to the Fund.

在北美、香港及各地師長、校友的多方面支持和鼓勵下，《大同園地》的創刊號終於在七月三十一日正式面世。
本刊共有五十六頁，彩色篇頁佔十六版，文章、詩詞等作者有五十多位，刊登的相片連彩照達一百九十多張，來稿的老師、同學來自多個國家、城市，包括香港、英國、澳洲、多倫多、紐約、波士頓、羅省、三藩市、溫哥華等。印刷量為一千七百份。北美區大部份校友己於八月一日連同通訊錄一同寄出。而將出席多倫多大會的校友，其份已交付林仕優總務攜帶北上，將於大會期中送贈各老師、校友。香港區的七百五十份，亦己付托空運，將於八月十二日前達香港珠海書院，慶祥秘書長處理。
《大同園地》能順利出版，除了北美、香港兩地的各工作人員的熱誠、共同力行外，最主要的原動力仍是世界各地大同人的熱心、不斷的鼓勵與支持的成果，謹此代表全体工作人員、編輯部同人向各位致萬二分的謝意。
我們編輯部同人都只是一群業餘的義工而已，我們歡迎任何有建設性的建議與指正。更盼望在《創刊號》未能參加行列的師友，在下一期都能和我們一起耕耘，成為我們《園地》的一份。
