The
King and Queen of Masquerade Ball |
[ÄlªÀ]

After a short four years of being selected to
the ¡§Business Person of 2002¡¨, Eugene Heung »°·±j
and Sintao Lau-Heung ¼B¥P®ç, Class of 1961 [®pªÀ],
spear-headed to the highest honor any person could get ¡V the¡§King
and Queen¡¨, by their local admiring people, young and old, rich
and not so rich. They were formally crowned at the splendid glamorous
Masquerade Ball with live music, ball room dancing, exotic foods
and drinks in Nevada City on February 25, 2006. And they were
immediately invited to lead the Annual Mardigras Parade the very
next day.
Thousands of spectators came from near and far
to view and solute their King and Queen in spite of pouring shower.
As the new elected Emperors, Eugene »°·±j and Sintao
¼B¥P®ç brought the most affection and care to the hearts
of everyone in view or at home, and waved to bless for their health,
prosperity, harmony, happiness, and peace amidst the joyful shouting
crowd. The event was one of the most exiting,
applause-yelling, cheerful, adoring, spectacular, and inspiring
parades of the past according to the critics¡K
Eugene »°·±j and Sintao ¼B¥P®ç,
as we all know, like to appear as common and ordinary people although
their virtue and wisdom are of extraordinary noble and keen. They
love low key, easy-going kind of life style. They were not 100%
approved of what I reported on their actual award of the ¡§Business
Person of 2002¡¨. They did not want me to say anything about their
empire this time. They said that it is no good to brag in front
of our loving and smart Tai Tung family members, because they
are all caring and intelligent. The words, loving and smart, are
their daily routine. There is nothing special to all¡K
Running out of persuading language to win the
release of King & Queen's top secret documents and photos
for more than a month, an undeniable idea suddenly came into my
mind. I picked up the phone and called the King. I reminded him
the special attention that we are going to celebrate our 50th,
40th, and 30th Anniversaries of High School Graduations this November
in Hong Kong and China. According to our Chinese custom and belief,
3 celebrations are an odd number. It would be much better if we
could have 4 celebrations to make the even-numbered lucky fortunes.
We need to announce and commemorate the King &
Queen's grand glorious story, so that we will be all completely
and perfectly rejoicing ourselves. He promised me to think it
over with the Queen. About a week later, good news arrived. I
received photos and newspapers from the King and Queen! I am allowed
to spread the good news for the pure enjoyment of our Tai Tung
Family members on condition that I shall not brag about them ¡V
the King & Queen¡K
Well, my respectful teachers, brothers, and sisters
of our Tai Tung Family, please take time to share the happy moments
of our big family.
Please notice the most joyful expression jumping out from the
bottom of their hearts, the warmth and sweetness radiated from
the the King & Queen's address to their subject inhabitants
¡V ¡§Thank You for Your Business & Friendship¡¨, and the closeness
of our family members represented by Cindy Chow ±ä¦¿¥ý,
class of 1960, Jane Hung ¦¿±Ós and Rose Koot-Lianides
¸¯»F¼y, class of 1961. And please perceive and witness the
successful education we gained from our scholastic-virtuous award-winning
teachers and the hard work we paid to learn, expand, and practice,
especially the Tai Tung spirit we find from the grand deed of
Eugene »°·±j and Sintao ¼B¥P®ç ¡K
As for the King & Queen's qualification and
selection, by order of the King & Queen, I can't say much.
But I could invite you all to think brilliantly, logically, and
reasonably why Eugene »°·±j and Sintao Heung
¼B¥P®ç were voted to the highest mighty human plateau, and
be the mentors of millions¡K
Talking about mentor in bright daytime and thinking
about mentor in quiet night time, I have mixed feeling about myself.
I have been in the United States of America to work and try to
find my dream land like most other immigrants since 1965. For
almost 41 years of struggling and sleeve-rolling, I am still a
PhD in my colleague's eyes. I am called Dr. Leung, who is poor,
hungry, and driven, as they find me working hard, real hard, every
day, to earn my money to buy rice for my family and to spend a
vacation with my buddy high school friends. Usually, I tell my
customers that I was highly educated in the U.S.A. when they give
me a bad time, become violent, and say that I do not know English.
I point to my head and say slowly that I have a PhD (Doctor of
Philosophy) degree and ask them to verify it with my colleagues.
Then I ask them to allow me to do my job. It works almost instantly
to fool and tame them for my smooth transactions¡K. Returning back
to the topic of the King & Queen, Eugene »°·±j
and Sintao ¼B¥P®ç called and reminded me many times,
after they sent me their top secret documents and photos, not
to blow their horn loud. I replied in a shaky voice, ¡§Yes, my
King & Queen, I am just reporting it is it was, nothing exaggerated.
You are just too humble. You cannot cover your shining and exploring
good personality and success because they will find their own
way out even in the dark! You just earn yourselves an honorable
PhD (powerful, humble, and driven) degree, too. You are my mentor
here in another town, hundreds and hundreds of miles away from
your kingdom¡K ¡§ At this point of thought, I genuinely admit that
Eugene »°·±j and Sintao ¼B¥P®ç are
truly powerful and humble. Aren't they?
